Find Bungalows in Surat Thani, Thailand

If You want to avoid the most commercial part of Koh Samui, and still not stay at a resort or in the nice fishingvillage Bo Phut, then I really think this is the best part of Koh Samui to stay at. When we arrived we first got a bungalow where the ac-machine didn´t work. But it was no problem to change emmdt. We also wanted to extend our stay with 2 more days and it was no problem to arrange even though they where almost fully booked. They clean the bungalow and change bedclothes every day. They say that they offer the best food in the village, but unfortunately we didn´t agree. We went to "The Hammock" at the same beach for their fantastic breakfast buffet, and had fantastic dinner at "Talay café". If You rent a motorbike You can easily go to Bo Phut for a nice dinner at 5 star restaurants, but also cheaper versions. If You want shopping they You should definately go to another village. But overall we where really satisfied with our stay. But honestly I´m not very impressed with Koh Samui as a destination. If You want to explore Thailand and the Thai culture, go to another Island.

Even if it has no aircon, I didn't had to turn the fan on... during the night the wind coming from the sea is cold and warm enough to keep you sleeping. At the beginning we were a scared because it is a bit far away, but that shouldn’t worry you because they offer free rides to town or the can take you to rent a bike, so transportation is not an issue. Literally no one on the beach in front of the place or anywhere nearby. There was one boat in the cove while we were on the beach, water is clean, sand is white and soft. Hotel is shipping containers which they have converted into rooms / restuarant / office etc. Rooms were spacious, clean and surprisingly modern. Staff were very helpful, food and drinks at the hotel were cheap and good. Down the street is Nikki Beach Club. Perfect for R&R getaway, if you are looking to be near nightlife and activities you should stay somewhere else.

Bit away from the towns so food choice is limited within walking distance, your best hiring a scooter and making your way around on that - not just for food but for exploring the island. Only issue we had was that we arrived at 12:00 after a long overnight bus journey and boat ride from Bangkok. Our booking stated we could check in from 08:00. Anyway we arrived to be told our room wasn't ready as they were letting the previous occupants stay in it past check out (which was 11:00). When we stated what the confirmation email said, they denied that check in time stating it was at 14:00 and was insistent on this time - fair enough but why do the previous occupants get to stay PAST check out time, yet we can't check in earlier than 14:00? Do we not matter as much as the previous occupants? You have a check out time of 11:00 presumably to get the room ready for the next occupants so surely they should have been told to vacate earlier? Anyway, they eventually told the occupants to vacate the bungalow and they needed an hour to clean the room so we spent some time in the restaurant until it was ready.

We booked a really cheap Bungalow and got a simple but really nice and clean one, two fans, double bed, clean towels, hammock, chairs and table on the balcony. For people who want more luxury there are more expensive bungalows as Well, which looked really nice. Staying one night longer was no problem. The bungalows are at the very end of the bay which makes them the perfect spot for relaxation seekers. All in all a very quiet and relaxed atmosphere all along the beach with enough restaurant, food, shopping and scooter rental places nearby. Only downside was that the sealevel in July was quite low, so you had to walk a few meters to be actually able to swim, but thats more about the beach than the bungalows.

Bungalow number 1, had the best view as it was right in front of the beach. The room was big enough for 4 people. However, the refrigerator wasn't working. It took time for the A/C to cool and the toilet seat was broken but still useable. The Wifi would come and go. You get what you pay for. Booked here cause 10 mins drive to big buddha but is resi n isolated area driving in small n jungle road.No ones was at reception when arrived, mother ask to call n can't speak english, Not everbody can understand thai n have line right? This place looked much more modern,clean than other bungalows that I crossed to join the beach and they have a swimming pool. The staff here really stands out - they are warm, friendly, and very helpful. Despite the last-minute arrangement, someone was there to greet us when we arrived and check us in. They gave us a room upgrade to a bungalow with an indoor bathroom (some have open-air showers) . They also gave us a recommendation for a nearby restaurant that was a ten-minute walk down a country road. And when we needed a taxi to get to the dam, they were able to arrange one for us on 30 minutes notice. Note: there are two dogs here - they'll bark at first, but they're sweet and won't bother you.

Nah it was really cool to be honest, I saw some reviews about the area of the bungalows being quite dirty, and it is, but it’s not the worst, we didn’t know what we were being led to when the lady on the desk walked us round, but the room was actually quite nice! Bathroom was very outdated, needs a bit of renovation but that is probly the only thing I can complain about, and even then it’s not even a complaint, it did the job you needed it to do aha. The location was also good, it’s smack bang in the middle of both main beaches, although it’s at the top of a steep hill it’s not all bad. Definatley recommend if your not too fussy :)

This is one of the best locations you can book in khao sok national park. It's really close to the park. The bungalows are clean and comfortable with a separate bathroom with a toilet and a shoeer. Villas facing the sea have more privacy than garden view ones. The villa was cleaned every other day. Minuses: Wifi intermittent, not reliable. Sometimes no connection at all. Small fridge. Toilet shower is too strong. The sink didn't properly drain. There was dust on the tables and bedside tables. The tap in the bathroom was really old. Some bulbs were not working. There seems to be no management present. Breakfast quite mediocre. Staff don't seem to be interested in you in any way.

It's like 2 seconds from 7-11 and a 5 minute walk to all the activity on Haad Rin. It's just far enough that you can sleep in peace as there is no noise from the party or the crowds. The property itself is peaceful and reminiscent of other islands like Kon Lanta or Koh Tao. It doesn't look like a dumpster like the rest of Haad Rin. The owner is SUPER nice. She offered us water and bananas and told us to help ourselves whenever we wanted more. She greeted us when we saw her. She was awesome. The restaurant/coffee shop on site is good too. I'm glad we stayed here instead of a hostel. It was great!

I didn't like that the shower was over the toilet area, but this wasn't a mojor issue. The bungalows were right on a small beach, which was beautiful, quiet and serene this was 100% the major selling point for us! There are a few small restaurants on the beach attached to other hotels, they were fine, always friendly. Overall, our stay here surpassed out expectations, as I said, basic but can't fault it, and that beach...bliss!

It's OK for its quietness. If you are not happy to walk on the night, there are many taxi service all night on full moon party night.

This is a lovely little collection of bungalows centred around a small but beautiful pool. The rooms are huge, light and really comfortable and the location is great, a 2 minute walk to the beach in one direction and a 2 minute walk to the main road for shops or taxi's in the other. One issue is the food options are limited to breakfast only so you need to head out of the resort for lunch and dinner but this is also a good thing as it ensures the property is lovely and quiet in the evenings and helps keep a relaxed chilled out vibe which I prefer .

Even if you haven't booked seaside, you can see the sea from you bungalow. Especially the staff was great. They like to chat and joke with you and give you tips about what to do on the island. I just booked one night with agoda for this place, but we were so happy there , that we stood there for 6 nights. We got a special price for the 5 nights we booked by the owner. We got a special price for the 5 nights we booked by the owner. You can rent a motorbike from her, and to secret beach it's just 2 minutes, to walk maybe 5 😉 The easiest way to explore the island is by motorbike, but always drive carefully, the streets are not the best! The food was always good and not to pricy. If I go to koh phangan again, I definitely would come here again!!!

Of course, you are next to nature, so if you can't deal with some ants, smaller spiders, geckos or bugs, it's maybe not your first choice - it's not that kind of high class resort. (It's better!;) ) The bungalows are nice, you've got everything you need. It was beautiful to fall asleep with the sound of the ocean or reading in your own hammock.. The shared bathrooms are okay, don't expect something special. Well it would be great, if there would habe been a broom on every bungalow, because of course you always bring sand inside if you come in. So finally: thank you so much for a great last week in Thailand, on koh phangan. I will be back! Hugs! P.s: yes, the hill is steep. But it's a hill. It's nature. What do you expect!? And if you ask someone of the crew, they will bring you the scooter up;)

The property itself is very nice and quiet, the rooms are clean and have plenty of space. The beach is amazing and pretty empty, so we had the beach to ourselves for most of the day. Our only issue with Baan Wasana was that when we arrived at 9pm (which I had previously written to them as our arrival time) no one was there to check us in. I had to call several times and we waited for almost an hour for someone to come let us into our rooms. By the time we got into our rooms all of the restaurants around had closed, so we had to walk past packs of barking street dogs to the nearby 7-11 to get some food. I recommend that you call the bungalow manager when you are still on the ferry and arranging your arrival time so that this doesn't happen to you. However, as I said, everything else was great and I recommend this place.

It was exactly what my boyfriend and I wanted. Close to the beach with minimal people there since it’s just a few bungalows there. It’s also close enough to town, but as you’re not in the heart of it(which I personally liked), then you’ll need a motorbike. I wanted something quiet and relaxing and this was here. Also, if you get a bungalow with AC, I found it cozy, yet modern. One of the best places I stayed in all of Thailand!

This is a great location with a really good value for money and the new manager really goes out of the way to make sure everyone is well taken care of and happy. The location is a little inconvenient to travel to. The drive from the main pier and the walk to the bungalow was really steep at times. However, when you reach your bungalow, the views are amazing, the staff are polite and helpful and the restaurant is great. We tried snorkelling when we were there which was fantastic. We stayed in Thani and not in the Garden resort. There’s a difference even if Agoda shows the same pictures for both resorts. We recommend Thani as the bungalows are newer and more up to date. The room was very big, especially the bathroom. It has a big fridge which is a plus. Cleaning of the room and fresh towers is every other day. But that was good enough for us. The location was nice but the apathetic unapologetically greedy attitude of the owners really spoiled the experience, the nicer rooms aren't even on the property as stated, a guy on a scooter takes you back over the river and up the road to another location. We had an awesome stay at these bungalows, the only downside was the host seemed a little annoyed at times and there was a longterm guest there that kept telling us to not review the bungalows and was quite rude to us because she wanted the whole place to herself. Super for a quiet beach holiday or for exploring the island; we did both. Restaurant food was excellent and suitable for Western & Thai ; Owner is French with a Thai wife.
