Ipoh hotels & places to stay

My son and I both really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Weil. The breakfast buffet is one of the best we have ever tried. ALL the Staff are nice and helpful and service at every level and dept are ALL excellent. The room is very comfortable and also on the 10th floor room we had the view of Ipoh surroundings is very nice, and esp the surrounding limestone hills / mountains. Another big asset is the hotel is connected to the Ipoh Parade Mall which has many kinds of good restaurants. Note that the hotel and most others fill up on weekends -- evidently filled up because of local foodie tourists coming to Ipoh, even foodies from Singapore. Ipoh till now has its excellent food (reputation) basically everywhere. Ipoh main lacking though is ease of transport. Going out of the hotel is quite easy but not going back. So Weil Hotel location is a plus too since it is so central and many places are within walking distance. We got a local 3G data card for our tablet and used that to navigate the streets. All in all I think Weil is likely the best hotel in Ipoh now. Weil is setting the bar now for real value and excellent comfort. And then of course is the everywhere food in Ipoh -- a main everyday pursuit for excellent taste and tummy happy time !!

This resort offers modern and ultra luxe accommodation right in the middle of the limes stone mountains of Ipoh. Surrounding the natural hot spring fed lake are private villas where guests can enjoy its beauty and harmony with nature and the experience just did not stop there. There is a cozy and swanky restaurant right inside a cave where you can enjoy probably one of the most romantic candle lit dinner ever. Each villa comes with two private pools, one of which has warm water coming from the hot spring. Due to its unique location, the resort is a little isolated from Ipoh town center but it has shuttle taking guest to nearby supermarket. This is the best place for a relaxing and holistic vacation where there are many places within the resort compound for meditation and yoga. It's about 20 minute taxi ride from Ipoh train station and near the Kuala Lumpur-Penang Expressway. Staffs are very friendly and helpful..especially one of the gentleman working at the restaurant and the cave restaurant as well!

When i was looking for hotel searching at agoda.com, was attracted by this hotel photo. and secondly the price. which is very good compare to other hotel in ipoh. Booked my stay and check in late afternoon. the hotel is clean and new. Overall experience is good. Bump into group check in, so there are some delay during check in, lucky they have a massage centre beside the lobby, so that we can pamper ourself with massage while waiting for the check in.

To me, this is the best hotel in Ipoh. the quality is tip top. nice rooms - modern concept. fantastic breakfast. best swimming pool. fantastic breakfast. and nice nightlife. because theres a beautiful night life across the hotel. just a 1-2min walk. I totally recommend this hotel to everyone who planning to stay in Ipoh. But i recommend the staff to improve more on their hospitality. And the most important is the management should consider to change the amenities. seriously, the shampoo,lotion and body wash are so terrible. it is not usable at all. that my whole family needs to buy these from outside. because the amenities provided are so useless.

They provide shuttle service but need to pay after check-out at the counter. Easy shuttle service from Ipoh Raiway Station to the Lost World hotel is only RM 8 including luggage a adult only 30 minutes to arrive. Clean and spacious, the hotel meets most important needs of any family with children. They also go out of their way to assist with guests needs for a quick changeover of rooms, especially when some rooms smell of cigarettes even on a non smoking floor. This is due to the inconsiderate nature of previous guests, but the hotel crew take ownership and assist to their best. The security and parking area crew are ever friendly and reliable. Our favourite to stay hotel in Ipoh.

Stayed only for one night but very staisfied. Booked 2 rooms with interconnecting door. Mainly due to room size which size is quite generous, each bathroom got bathtub and best location to explore Ipoh city. Also we got complimentary parking at lower floors. Tried the swimming pool and quite like it, not too big or too deep. Bfast is also not bad and hotel staffs were very helpful. Recommended to all.

This may be a smallish 3-star hotel (without a swimming pool, gym & other facilities normally associated with higher end hotels & resorts), but it is definitely new (established in 2011) and clean. My family and I made a recent trip to Ipoh and had a good 2 night-stay at MH. Pleasantly surprised. We got the Family Room for RM350 per nite (RM390 for weekends and peak). May not be the best in terms of value, but it was spacious enough with 1 Queen and 1 Single Beds. We added an extra bed to cater for a total of 5 people (3 adults and 2 kids). Service was good - efficient and friendly staff. Located next to McDs and many other eateries, 2-3 minutes drive to AEON (Jusco) mall and just next to the entrance into Ipoh from the PLUS Highway. So, for me, I consider this to be location friendly. I have not stayed in other hotels in Ipoh, but I would certainly consider MH on my next visit to Ipoh.

Spacious room, clean, nice ambiance, curteous staff, great food. Will definitely stay here for my next Ipoh trip. Parking is a bit hassle since the hotel share it with staff from the government building & no shaded parking. The bed is nice & stylish but need to do something about THE EDGES. Already got me & my son. Painful. Other than parking & bed edges, all are great. The best hotel in Ipoh by far.

This is one of the best boutique hotel in Ipoh and the price is extremely reasonable. This hotel is decorated with modern mixed Europe steam punk design which is very unique. The hotel staff is very friendly and kind. The breakfast is quite good but it's have limited choice but the spread is fair enough. The hotel room is quite nice but just a little small, for those who is big size i would advise you to book a bigger room. The hotel is in good location. Overall this is one of the best hotel in Ipoh.

Due to the incredible services by this hotel, i make an effort to write this review just to let u all know about this hotel. I choose this hotel due past good reviews and seriously this is the best 3 stars hotel i ever meet. If u have budget around rm200 and looking for a place in ipoh, straight away book this hotel, u will not regret. believe me! We book 3 rooms in new renovated room and all of us are really happy n satisfied. We arrived late night at the hotel, the service started when we park, they guide us during the parking. Then the receptionist was very friendly and the best ever words " there are 2 cans drink inside the fridge and it is foc, u can drink " . Then when we enter the room, suprisingly with less than rm200, the room equiped with bath tub!!! My twins are so happy with this. Then the next morning, they served brekafast ala carte, i believed because there is not much customer. But seriously the breakfast awesome! The coconut rice just nice and the american breakfast is delicious!!! not to forget the coffee.. i drink it twice !! so for those looking for a hotel in ipoh, please book renovated room in this hotel. U will not regret. believe me!!

Growing up in Ipoh, my impression of mid-priced hotels in Ipoh was not a favourable one. This Lunar New Year, I chose to have a one-night's stay at French Hotel in Ipoh New Town after seeing pictures in Agoda. True to what I saw in pictures, the rooms were modernly furnished and quite clean. The king-sized bed was comfortable for my wife and I. The bathroom was above my expectations and there was even rain shower. I called the reception desk regarding the hot water being lukewarm and help was rendered quite fast and effective. The staff were generally very efficient in serving guests. It is located not too far off the famous dim sum, taufu fah, white coffee places. I will definitely recommend tourists to Ipoh to stay at French Hotel Ipoh.

Actally I wanted to stay in other MH Hotel where my company function was held. There are actually TWO MH Hotels in Ipoh. The one that I booked is in the outskirt of Ipoh about 30 km away. When I went to check in, I was told that this MH is the wrong MH. Luckily the hotel staff manage to correct the error and there was a room available. So to avoid further confusion please change the address of this hotel to MH Sungai Siput.

1st time stay in pi hotel. Fast check in and friendly staff. Only 3 things Im not satisfied was the room they gave me "810" have some problems - basin's mixer spoil with only hot water supply cause me brush teeth half way have to go into the shower area use the shower mixer. 2nd the body shampoo machine was out of service when I bath half way...damn! Cause me have to make a phone call ask them send me bath gel with a paper cup to my room and im on the middle of the bath! 3rd was the roon overall look like clean but actually have a lot of dust because i have a very sensitive nose. But at the end the staff shift me to another new room at "319" and thanks god everything was fine after shift into new room so just forgive them. The next morning when I woke up I leave a msg at reception counter ask them to do house keeping when I wanna go out, unfortunately during the night time when I back to my room the situation still same like morning without any house keeping. I purposely went down to reception to feedback and that time have 2chinese guys at reception and I dunno their name just can firgure out are "one fat, short with spec and another one is tall n thin". They talk nicely and good manner apologies with their miss out service. At the end this 2chinese guys still send me a room service for their sincerely apologies make feel so surprise and forget about the mad and happy to see the humble nice service. So definitely I will come back again when I visit ipoh. Thanks for the room service and keep it up. Hope to see the improvement when my next visit soon. Thanks Oh ya, the hotel location very good because all the famous places and foods was just nearby and the best things I like is the hotel provides free car park with security for only guest. Reasonable price with not bad interior decor. This hotel also very good with provide the information with all nearby famous foods to convenience/easier guests from outstation to find the place. I was surprised at how centrally located the hotel was. Pub street was just behind, far enough so you don't hear the loud music from your room, but close enough to just take a 2 minute stroll to some of the best nightspots in town. It was also relatively near to a lot of the famous food shops. Two of the best dim sum in town are just a 4-minute walk away, perfect way to start your day. We took the triple room, and there was even a balcony. And the bathroom was so huge. Free drinking water too, just bring your own bottle down to the lobby to fill up. Also they had several reserved parking spots for guests at the back of the hotel, perfect if you are driving and do not want to pay for public parking by the roadside. I would really recommend this hotel, especially for other Malaysians making a short trip to Ipoh.

My brother and I both agree that the stay was very good if not excellent, probably the best hotel experience in their price range in Ipoh in terms of room facilities, hospitality, service, convenience, creature comforts, cleanliness, good design, location, etc. Debbie with her years of hotel experience is not only setting their own standards with their brand of service and hospitality but may become trendsetters in the hotel industry of Ipoh or even Malaysia. Overall the hotel experience was a combination of American style services, Asian warmth and friendliness, great breakfasts, well trained and friendly foreign staff, clever room luxuries and design minus the costly frills that are really not needed resulting in a 4 to 5 star hotel stay at 3 star prices. Wish we could have stayed longer to really soak in the experience and enjoy the facilities and the strategic and convenient location

By far the best botique hotel i have stayed in Ipoh. We took the Premium Suite Room The location is near to the Aeon Station 18 Shopping Mall within walking distance. But if you are looking for some food craving, you need a car to travel to the city center (around 20min drive) The staff there are friendly and even allowed us for late check-out due to heavy rain that time. Just some minor issues on the rain shower, it unable to switch to the normal head shower due to the handler broken. The others are up to the expectation. They also provide ironing facilities and washing machine for you to do your laundry if needed. We didn't try their in-house restaurant (cause we are in Ipoh food town) but the place look clean and tidy all the time.

I am overly satisfied with my stay at this hotel. The room was really spacious and have a great facilities. I just cannot believe that I only pay a little money to enjoy a luxurious stay at this hotel. Previously I only stay at this one hotel not to be mentioned whenever I have a business meeting in Ipoh. Well, that hotel has lost me as their frequent customer because from now on I will only stay at Ritz Garden Ipoh Hotel. Hope that this hotel will not going to change much but only getting better.

Pro : Clean, new, strong air con, hot & strong water shower, plenty of plug available. comfy bed and pillow(Provided 4 pillow). The cafe around lobby have good food. A little bit small but taste good. Con: The only one is the hot water need to wait a while. Open water and wait about 2 Minutes....But still acceptable Not around downtown. Very good for solo business traveler. I will recommend to my friend and put into my Ipoh hotel list

The apartment we stayed was a 3-rooms apartment fully furnished and easily can accommodate 5 adults. Clean rooms and everything is still new. A smaller room can only fit in an adult to be comfortable. It was a short walking distance to 'Nga Choy Kei' Beansprout Chicken shops and famous confectioneries shops. The only tiny problem was the receptionist area was hard to find, it was located inside the property showroom area next to the lift lobby. If you are driving in, one free car park per apartment (car park entrance is located at the back and 4th Floor onwards). Definitely will consider again if we planned to visiting Ipoh again

A really exceptional boutique hotel in Ipoh. Hotel and rooms decorations are very true to Balinese style. Very romantically and tastefully done. The garden view room with bathtub is great. There’s a balcony area by the fish pond with beautiful and healthy koi fish. They provide you fish feeding food too so it can be a great experience for both children or adults. The bathroom is very spacious with nice bathtub. Staff was friendly too. You order your breakfast from the menu. The hotel location is not bad too, at the quieter residential area but not too far away from the town (need a car to go out though). Give it a try!

We didn't expect our hotel experience to be so good, given the price! Our bus arrived in Ipoh 2 hours early and just as we thought we would be stranded at the bus station, a call to D Eastern's front desk revealed that we can check-in as early as 830am because a room was already available. Wow, which other hotel does that?! Not any that I know of! We stayed there for 3 nights. The first thing my friend and I did was to ask for their Wifi password (we were on holiday but still needed internet for survival haha) and the internet connection in the room was stable and fast. We requested for extra pillows which was given to us at no extra charge. They also replenished our bottled water daily because we drank like horses. We bumped into the cleaning lady and she was so sweet. She also made our beds very nicely. We asked the staff to recommend us some attractions in Ipoh and we followed their advice. A money changer and a conveniece store is located right beside the hotel's restaurant. We weren't aware that the hotel had a restaurant, because it said on most websites that they were in the process of making one. The breakfast buffet is local food. For RM 7, you can eat to your heart's content. But we prefered the ala carte offerings which are only available for lunch and dinner. To give you an estimation of the cost, one plate of fried rice costs about RM4 and if you want something fancier like lamb chop that will cost you RM8. The prices are so reasonable that for some of our meals, we decided to just eat at the hotel's restaurant instead of venturing out. We would definitely come back to stay at Ipoh hotel. The only negative was that the rooms have no safety deposit boxes so we carried our light valuables around. Still though, I think you can ask the front desk to help you store some valuables which you don't want to carry with you. Early check out is possible too at this hotel. We highly recommend it!

Been here for a company event nearby. Great location with plenty amenities just a walking distance with big hypermall building just next to it. Room is clean and staff are quite fast in handling our check in. Eating wont be a problem as plenty of eatery places nearby and inside the shopping mall. If you are looking for fast gateaway medium budget hotel in Ipoh, this is the place for you to stay. Highly recommended

The hotel is new in tambun, walking distance to starbuck coffee, giant, maybank and lost world of tambun. This is the 3rd branches for Golden Roof Hotel, which they have another branches at ipoh and taiping. Overall the stay is awesome, everything new. Excellent wifi connection. Happy with the customer services from the reception. She introduce alot of local eatery and local attraction for us. So that our trip wont be so boring. If you are looking for hotel near tambun, This is the best choice you have. Thumbs up! Will come back soon for next ipoh trip.
