Where to stay in Makassar
Makassar hotels & accommodations

Stayed for two days and the hotel is located right next to Fort Amsterdam. Great food and fantastic staff. However, the incessant need to smoke cigarettes in Indonesia, a trend that undoubtedly will change as the public cost of cancer and throat diseases will increase beyond acceptance, and albeit I stayed in a non-smoking room, I noted a significant smell from the adj...

The room was clean and tidy but minim facilities. Room space quiet small. The water quality was not too good. Aircon (room 1020) was noisy. Nice design of pool but quite small. The food variety and taste just standard. Overall just standard and feels like 3 star/budget hotel even its categorized as 4 star hotel in agoda apps (compared to the other 4 star hotel in Makas...

There are lots of new hotel in Makassar now. But my parents and our bug family always want to stay here. It's a big hotel, the swimming pool is one of the best in Makassar and we got good clean room. The staffs are friendly even though sometimes they seemed in a rush. We always get complimentary Markisa juice which really good and so Indonesia! Did I mention Clarion's ...

the only hotel in makassar that i will likely to come back the hotel have good staff performance, nice building style, best springbed, best bathroom, good smell hotel but unfortunately this hotel and very likely all building in makassar has the same problem, very narrow and hard to maneuver, and the food not really good

Frustrating stay at the Myko. Won't be back here as there are better hotels in makassar. we were meant to stay there for 4 nights but ended up moving to another accom and glad that we did. our electricity supply keeps turning off and on every 10 mins, frustrating communication with the staff and lack of knowledge did not help. I.T was meant to come and fixed the room p...

I’ve stayed in more than 20 different hotels in Makassar already, and Pesonna is one of my absolute favorites, especially for the price. It’s the best value for money! Very clean rooms, very nice and helpful staff, delicious room service (with the best pisang ijo in all of Makassar!) for great prices. This place is really cheap for what you get. I’d recommend it to eve...

Going to makassar and spent 2 nights at melia makassar, hotel was quite new, location was good near to ratu indah mall and lots of cozy restaurant near hotel. Room was quite spacious and the facility was still new. The cons for this hotel was the parking building. The road in the parking building was so narrow and made it difficult to reach the parking floor. The break...

The room is pretty small although comfortable. Mini bar is free, which is pretty good when you find yourself suddenly in a meal crisis and need to have a quick bite. The staff is not so professional. We arrived quite early at 6.00 am in Makassar after a tiring overnight bus trip from Toraja (Rantepao). Upon checking-in at 7.00 am, we headed for breakfast at the Losar...

This is a modern 4 star hotel with sufficient facilities to do business. Each room s equipped with enough and different power points to accommodate different systems from Australia, USA, and Indonesia. This eliminates converters which are often not effective. The internet connection is very stable, with the option to increase the speed if necessary. The staff are s...

It's relatively a brand new hotel in Makassar.. Beautiful and spacious lobby completed with excellent services in the front desk - quick check in and check out process.. The room is nice and clean Facilities are great too.. Huge parking lot, restaurants and nice pool.. If there is minus point, it would be the TV channel - very limited sport TV channel.

First time I tried swiss bell in hotel but super love the experience. Close to malls and restaurants. Not overcrowded and noisy. Would definitely stay here again. Last time I tried other 4star hotel in makassar but I think compared to price and service, swiss bell in is a lot better

for the first time i stayed in aryaduta hotel makassar, i feel so nice since the hotel located in the center point of the most beautiful site in makassar. the somba opu, the very famous trading center in makassar is located only 5 minutes by walking from the hotel. i can enjoy the very good view about the tanjung bunga tourist center both in night and day. the breakfas...

For travellers needing to stay overnight before an early morning flight, the Ibis Budget Makassar Airport was perfect. Located just a few minutes walk from both arrival and departure gates, the rooms were compact, but clean and comfortable, making it a great choice.

I've stayed in other Novotel's in Indonesia. The brand offers good value for money. But this gem in Makassar was the best value for money hotel I've ever stayed in in Indonesia. I put it higher on this basis than the excellent Mercure Subang in Jakarta. Right from the beautiful lobby level to the wonderful and cheerful staff to the suoerb modern (only basic price level...

Located at city centre of Makassar, near to tourism att and culinary places. Clean room, helpfull staff. The problem is the music from the aisle quite noisy. Besides, they don’t have service lift so sometimes u step up inside the lift among those cleaning services with towel, napkin, etc in their hand. :))

Its was a enjoying and relaxing times at sahid jaya. The staff are friendly and helpful. Since its our first time there, the staff showed us how to get to the places of attractions at Makassar by the cheapest way thats is by becak (trishaw) or by angkutan kota (town bus). The rooms are always clean and the breakfast is delicious.Especially the pisang epe and the coto m...

Staying in Ibis Makassar hotel was a pleasure for me as business traveler. The room was so perfect, services and location is superb After a day meeting, we can sight seeing in Losari Beach, which is so local for me. I will stay here again next time.

Hotel is a bit old now, used to be one of the icon of Makassar. Hotel location is good. The view from hotel's cafe is superb as the hotel sit on top of the sea, Room is spacious with a king size bed. Very friendly staffs (all of them from the front office, bell boy, cafe's staff). Swimming pool is nice and clean. Overall it's good

First time stay in Ibis Style Makassar Check in was Quick The staffs all nice I booked total 2 rooms from agoda and the rest from accor website Had a good sleep in their room The gym was ok not great but ok The swimming pool was great I recommend this hotel

I was staying in junior suite room which has mezzanine layout. Interesting. Everything is right in place, clean, lux materials from such hotel. King bed is upstairs with flat TV, you get sofa bed downstairs with flat TV too. Power plugs are everywhere, it's the combined with light switches but most of them can't work. Plus the light switches make it harder to plug in. ...

The hotel location is quite strategic if you would like to explore Losari beach. 30 - 45 mins drive from Airport. 10mins walk to Losari beach. The room is quite small, but nicely designed and functional. Staffs are friendly and effective. Hotel can arrange airport pick-up for Rp. 175,000/car/way, it was perfect for us to avoid the hassle with airport taxi. Plenty of ea...
Cheap places to stay in Makassar

The Yasmin Hotel has compact and comfortable rooms that provide amenities and necessities. The rooms are clean and well-maintained. The staff is anxious to please and make your stay pleasant. The manager provided a car & driver at no charge in order for me to buy a bus ticket to Tana Toraja. I was upgraded to a deluxe room when there were issues with the standard r...

Quick and friendly check in..Compact room with old TV that need adjusting for signals. Free wifi and a/c. Ensuite ok. Breakfast of black coffee and two chocolate toasts included. Within walking distance to city and bus to Airport. Plenty of food stalls around.

im amazed with this place. cheap but located strategically in central and touristic area. beach in front of hotel, and they have rooftop area where you can chill out and enjoy sunset stand out from crowd. all the staff is super friendly and helpful especially Ahmad and Marty. i definitely will choose.to stay here everytime i back to makassar

Such such great value for money for what we had included - close to the airport (we only stayed one night as we had early flight), breakfast included, good shower, TV, room service and WiFi. Easy to get a grab in the morning from there to the airport also which was ideal (only about a 15 min drive depending on traffic).

It's a new building, good location, good price. It was beyond expectation n I'll definately recommend this place. I'd give 5 for cleanliness, but the bed sheet weren't worth 5 stars. So I put 4 instead. Do not forget to bring ur own bath stuffs as they don't provide one. But they so have towels.

This 3 1/2 star hotel's service puts many 5-stars to shame. I arrived via ferry from Bau Bau to Makassar at the ungodly hour of 3AM. Best to sit tight at the ferry terminal and wait until sunrise. At 06:00 I walked to the Grand Populare enjoying the scenery and hoped only to be able to stash my luggage at the hotel. Much to my surprise, and gratitude, I was checked ...

I shared about the very less water coming out from the bath shower which is really uncomfortable to the reception staff. They'd moved me to second room which are the same situation but a bit better than before. I decided to continue stay at the hotel after my 8 night so I booked another room with less price and I moved again. And finally, We've got a good and nice show...

the hotel is located a bit far from the city center & tourist attractions such as losari and fort rotterdam, but the staff was always ready to help hail a metered taxi from the street. the room was basic but clean. breakfast a bit boring but there are other things to choose from in makassar and they're relatively close.

Decent budget options are lacking in Makassar, this is a buisness hotel but perfect for us for a few nights. Breakfast was good, indonesian selection. Coffee was not good! Rooms were comfortable but not the biggest. They need to stop providing water bottles daily, they should provide a water gallon for refills.

a good sleep in the hotel many good place arround the hotel "panakukang mall","bumbu dapur restaurant", etc is close to the hotel also many restaurant with sea food makassar is a city that provide many cheap but good food restaurant, also in the makassar beach called "losari", it is a good place to visit

This new hotel is very well located at the centre of the city, closer to the famous Pantai Losari. Our group consist of 3 person, we stay at makassar for 2 nights. We visit some landmarks such as losari beach and fort rotterdam.
It's not that big & yet it's quite crowded. Not that clean as well. But apparently the economic market is quite consumptively high as I took notice quite many new vehicles, either cars & motorcycles strolling around the city.
The largest city on Sulawesi, it is the gateway to the Toraja region and the wiiden Pinisi (schooner) boat building area of Tanah Beru.

Busy port city.. a bit chaotic like most Indonesian cities. Good transit point for sightseeing in the Toraja mountains
Bustling port city... transit point for Toraja and South Sulawesi - not exactly a 'holiday destination'
It is more like a transit city to get around Indonesia. There good hotels to stay, good food, and good shopping in case need to buy some needs.
