Indonesia hotels & accommodations

We are frugal traveler, so we typically do not stay in fancy, luxurious resort and/or hotel. But, we have stayed at a handful over the years in different countries - US, Indonesia (Bali and others), and Australia. I have to say that AYANA resort is BY FAR THE BEST one we've stayed at. It was also the priciest. We booked a room for around AU$250 for 1 night only, but si...

Ayana should be the benchmark of true 5 star hotel. The staffs are the best you can find, they are attentive and extremely helpfull. We had a sunset dinner in the Kisik restaurant (much better than the Rock bar) and my partner said, it's the best dinner he ever had: the view is fantastic (book ahead to get the best table), the seafood is fresh and seasoned to perfectio...

Great welcome, the hotel has wonderful facilities, they have their own mini-zoo (!) and mini rice fields, playgrounds for kids. The pools are awesome and the service is above my expectations. So far the best deal i had in Indonesia. Thanks Sahid Eminence :)

"wow" is the word came from the moment i saw this place. Hidden in the narrow alley, this hotel offer you a luxury stay and great facilities. I booked the suite room and then had updraded to the cottage. It was an impressive 2-floors-cottage. They had a spacious living room and kitchen at first floor and two great bed rooms at the second floor. Each bed room had a mod...

We had previously stayed at Hard Rock hotel Singapore last year - which was our first Hard Rock experience and in our opinion a so-so hotel - so we had moderate expectations before arriving. Well actually we were wrong. The hotel was actually way beyond our expectations. The things that we liked: The atmosphere. The hotel has this one central theme, which is to mak...

Booked hotel through agoda. Hotel emailed agoda asking our time of arrival. I replied hotel directly and hotel replied instantly. Hotel transfer was punctual with Great comfortable car. 15 mins drive to hotel from BBT port. Upon arrival, was treated with friendly security and receptionist serving cold Apple tea and wet towels. Plus point, receptionist was able to speak...

wow! this place just blew us away. yes it is expensive, you're looking at $1k sgd per day for room and food, but it is 5-star and you get what you pay for. the private beach is clean, long with clear blue water and you can use all the amenities of the sister hotel next door and charge to your room. the service here is the best i've ever had, free yoga session, ever...

Pros - special channel in Indonesia checkpoint, express Lane no need queue if you are canopi guest. Don't really know how they did this in a government sector but it's damn cool ye -bus service to hotel and checkpoint all provided by hotel. We missed our bus there as we lost something in the hotel but the kind staff arranged a car for us and drove us there. -When we a...

we stayed for 4 nights, taken 2 Deluxe rooms for 4 adults and 2 children. At the time of checkin, auto upgraded to Balcony rooms, great. Very clean and neat rooms. Called the hotel a day before and asked for neighbouring rooms and they did their best and gave 2 rooms very close. Friendly staff, responded to our requests. Booked hotel with breakfast, is an excellent cho...

We stayed at the hotel for two night. We had the last room on level 3, it was very quiet and we didn't have any disturbing problem mentioned by other customers. Room was nice and clean, view is spectacular (felt like living in the jungle to be honest and we loved it), staff were extremely friendly and helpful with a big smile on their face all the time. They offer shut...

check in = take more than an hour (very very busy) duty manager = VERY BEST handling our problem and our infant, thank you. staff = greets every customer well AC = not cool enough, leave it for hours to get cool room facility = thanks for staff for decorating our room during 1st and 2nd night amenities = VERY BEST! kids club = Best handling our child beach = dirty with...

highly recommended. staffs were helpful, breakfast was awesome, n they even provide afternoon tea. we had family rooms and kids have their own privacy. rooms ass big and spacious, my 2 boys loved it totally. cleanliness was good too. location is good, just a short walk to the main Street.

Checking into the Seminyak was one of the best decisions my fiance and I made during our stay in Bali. Even though it was a bit pricey it was worth every penny. It is definitely a 5 star hotel and lived up to all of our expectations. This hotel could write the definition on cleanliness as our room and every part that we saw of the hotel and ground was spotless! ...

Yes there are a lot of improvements since my last visit to this hotel 2 years ago. Fast check in and out. But still find problems during breakfast. The staff cant manage the queues, well that’s always the problem with alot of hotel in Indonesia. They basically cant manage the queues, such a shame for 4/5 stars hotel! I gave the 2 star for the staff at the restaurant du...

The location on the beach and the pools are the best part about this hotel. I would definitely recommend it, it’s down the quiet end of the beach. On arrival the greeting is nothing special, they do expect a credit card or large amount of cash as deposit incase you buy anything at the restaurants etc. It was 500,000 but we stayed for 7 nights. The rooms are very old an...

We spent two nights at the tea garden resort in Lembang, a short drive away from Bandung. For the last night of my long weekend I wanted to have nice comfortable and civilised night at the Padma, which I consider one of the best hotels in Indonesia. I have been staying there since 2001, at least a couple of times a year, and with each renovation the hotel seems to get ...

You'll never be wrong with the facilities and beauty of the hotel. Sad side with this hotel is you wil not enjoy the beach as it is for water sport only. We booked this hotel thinking the white sand beach will be enjoyed but, we we're confined with the 2- huge swimming pools. Well anyways, we really enjoyed the pools accessible directly on our rooms. take note pool is ...

Our stay at the hotel was very enjoyable, the room was very comfortable and the staff helpful and efficient. Breakfast was included with the room and was exellent, both in variety and quality. Hotel area is very large and although it was almost full, we had no problems finding available chairs close to the pool. The hotel also arranged some unscheduled events while we...

excellent resort to recommend to people who want to seclude themselves from their daily stress, urban lifestyles, for a retreat and honeymoon. you are greeted by all staffs with great warm and friendly smiles upon arrival, your way to your villa and until the day you check out ! we booked a garden villa and were upgraded to a deluxe pool villa with a large private po...

Both my girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay here at TS Suites over Christmas. We even tried room service on two occasions, which by our surprise, was the best Nasi Goreng during our stay in Bali! breakfast buffet in the morning was good - we particularly enjoyed their omelette and banana and strawberry pancakes made-to-order by their chef. There was also oriental selecti...

I have been looking forward to my first child free trip in eight years. This was the pick for three friends and I to meet and relax. Easy to find (if you ignore Google Maps and don't listen to Siri). Very welcoming staff and the rooms were huge. Two king single beds with clean linen, just warm enough for the aircon rooms. Breakfast was included every morning and while ...

The resort was absolutely beautiful! Amazing design around a huge lagoon pool with heaps f tropical plants. We had the pool access room and highly recommend it. The room itself was fantastically designed, with an open concept bathroom (that can also be private), great flatscreen tv with plenty of channels, great amenities (shampoos and body wash etc were good quality),...

Spent our honeymoon and wife's birthday at Anantara Uluwatu. Greeted with a splendid ocean view from the lobby. The staff were extremely helpful, best service we have gotten in our stays anywhere. The rooms were extremely spacious and clean. The bathroom was amazingly spacious too! The outdoor jacuzzi was a great place to the sounds of waves crashing at night. This h...

we just stayed in this bcc hotel for a night and regret that we should have stay longer period.... it is a very nice hotel which i would say "maybe the best hotel" in batam indonesia.... it is a new hotel, therefore almost all the furnishment are newly setup. we have an upgrade to the premium room by the reception and the room is huge (the kids were able to play an...

It is a simple 3 star hotel, proper beds showers, with all necessary amenities a hotel should have. Reception is very friendly and helpful even if they’re over loaded, they can manage. Room is big with lots of sunlight coming in, love it. Most importantly, air conditioning is PERFECT. So good. Tv comes with cable so there’s good selection. Also, the hotel allows grab D...

Where to begin?! The room was spacious and elegant. It used to be the Hyatt Regency so you can expect all facilities associated with the brand. The ground, the garden, the pool, the foyer, the lobby and more were stylish and well maintained. This is a stylish older property. The lobby foyer was scented with the aroma of Lemongrass ... comforting. The grand piano was us...

We booked through Agoda and there was an issue with our booking, although we had paid and had confirmation from Agoda, it didnt get through to the hotel. I am the biggest stresshead, i thought we lost the ocean view villa i was dreaming about for months. The gentleman at the service desk was AMAZING...he reassured me and said dont worry i can see your paperwork, we wil...
Cheap places to stay in Indonesia

Had an exceptional stay there, even though it’s not a good hostel to meet many people. It is really close t the airport and not gr from both uluwatu and Nusa dua. It was the cleanest hostel I stayed in in Indonesia and the breakfast was excellent. They are having the friendliest staff;)

That was my best and favorite homestay until now. The place is really beautiful and the hosts are the best! I enjoyed the chats with Andreas, we played guitar together and he made me a great time there. It's a shame that I was just for one night there... I highly recommend to visit them! I definitely will come back for a longer time. :)

This is really one of the best Hostel I've been. The capsul are perfekt and clean, the mainroom is big enough and really nice. Maybe the bathroom could be a bit more clean. If you have to wash your clothes ask them. The Service is cheap and perfect( clean and it smells good) The staff is soooo kind and they speak english. You can ask them for help and they will h...

All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My economy room was windowless, which could be a problem for some but I loved it as it was very quiet. The facilities were modern and the showers had hot water all the time. Breakfast was a standard affair. It was close to many of the attractions and restaurants. It is a great hotel for the budget concious but does no...

There's one dorm of 12 beds, very well seperated with curtains which is great for privacy. But there's only one bathroom for all those people and sometimes the shower didn't even work for our stay. The AC also partially works, be sure to sleep near the AC because otherwise it's very hot during night. It's well located but in front if the busiest street of Ubud so it 's...

It's really worth my money staying 3 nights here. Location is quite far from the centre of (Ubud Market), but I enjoy the morning walk which took about 20-30 minutes. Night time night be the tricky part, try to reach back to the hotel before dark or just bring along a torch light with you. Will consider to come back and stay here again.

I stayed for an entire week and I stayed in many hostels befire. In comparison that’s one of the best in value you get for your money. Easygoing very friendly and helpful stuff. Kitchen can be used. We cooked together. Sharing and caring. The guys do their best to keep all clean. Communication top. Everything else for me too. Recommended for male and female. Very safe ...

First wasn't sure, the price seemed to cheap so I only booked when I came here. Now I stay 8 nights! The dorm upstairs is simple but beautiful. Free breakfast, everyday different. One day we got banana chocolate pancakes!!! Showers and toilets are clean, nothing special. The chill area spacious snd it's super green with palm trees and a grass roofed bar. Its beautiful ...

The location of the hostel is great,it's just with 2 minutes' walking to the city center-Ubud Market,a few of minutes' walking to others such as nice pub, western restaurant and monkey forest. They also have some tourist information about hiking, one day package tour...Anyway,it's a cheap place to stay in Ubed, but so sweet accommodation.

my stay was amazing! from the beginning till the end, the lovely and gorgeous staff made me feel like home. It was like living with a small family. They were always smiling, helpful and extremely kind! the basic room was perfect for us: it was a really good price, close to the beach and in a nice and quiet area. This Guesthouse has a restaurant and a small shop for wat...

the room was so huge! if want to have the best morning views of Ubud, book this hostel! the top balcony has nice view of Ubud since this is the tallest homestay that I know. It is also close to Puri Agung and Puri Dalem. The offer taxi service and it is the best priced taxi service you can get. cheaper than anyone in Ubud. The staff and the owners are also very accommo...

nice clean hotel with frienly staff but the lift is way too far behind from the lobby. corridor via restaurant is a bit narrow so if you're with big bag, take the left corridor (via surau). one lighting power switch that control lighting switch and power plug switch in a room. so if you switch off this lighting switch at night the plug then your tv is off too!!! as...

honestly this is the best hostel i've ever stayed at. they have privacy curtains on each bed, the receptionist was really NICE, everyone talks to everyone. a very sociable hostel. free coffee and tea for everyone, hot water, wifi, charging station and reading light on each bed. its also very beautiful bc it has traditional Balinese architecture characteristic (from ma...

This oasis in the centre of Gili Air has been fantastic for us. One of the best value accommodations of our trip across Asia, with a delightful pool and sunbathing area and free (and reasonable) breakfast. The recently built wooden bungalows were comfortable, with new mosquito nets and soft thick mattress beds on the floor. Wifi was generally excellent and staff always...

It was kind of a rush of me to book at this place, i found few other options but I decided to stay here because it was the cheapest. however, it is cheap priced that comes with the best. I stayed in the dormitory room, it was quite spacy, and it only has 8 beds so not too packed even tho it was full at the last two days of my stay. It was worth it as you don't spend ti...

I stayed here for 4 nights with an affordable price, if you don't mind sharing a room and toilet with others then this place is a great deal. Just walking distance from Malioboro Street, the environment is safe and the owner is very friendly. I would stay here again if I come back to Yogja!

I would like to say thank you so much to Putra, it was the best experience I could ever imagine in Bukit Lawang. When we came by bus he was waiting for us in the bus station, he bring us to the hostel and since then we felt just welcome. We book a 2 days trek in the jungle and we were very lucky, -he said- because we see almost everything you we expect. The trek was ex...

The family here was very nice and friendly. They took me to the ATM, to get juice, and to the laundry services for no extra fee. Great place, clean, they have their own store out front, and even have street food vendors. They have the best price for the Ijen tour guide, too. It was a pleasure to stay here, and would definitely stay again!

This is our first time to Indonesia. We wanted to start in Bali. We found Bulan Bali Homestay and couldn’t be happier. We were able to arrange a very late night pickup upon arrival t the airport. Our kind driver was very nice. The accommodation is very clean and has what we needed. A very nice breakfast was served the next morning and each morning thereafter to our bal...

Loves to stay in this hostel. Quiet environment, with cheap place/warung to buy food and groceries. They provide scooter for rent, it really helps me to go anywhere. Free towel, blanket to use, also 'all you can drink' free mineral water, coffee and tea during your stay. Beautiful garden for relax and yoga. So recommended!

first, from the airport go to the hostel, let's take grab or Uber. about 150.000rupi. out the main airport's door, turn left and just walk 3mi to take grab. taxi driver asked 250.000-400.000. the best is call for hostel before, ask Shutter bus, just 60.000rupi/person. if u come at evening. stay at Kuta Bali is better. need about 1-2h hours to go to Ubud from the airpo...

Pros: swimming pool, really great and friendly staff, hot showers, peaceful surrounds, free breakfast (best are the omelettes, but the jaffles are too simple in my opinion), clean rooms, and decent hangout spots. Negatives would only be the location, but for people who feel confident enough renting a scooter, it's probably not an issue. Also, they can shuttle you into...

Really nice and clean guesthouse, The owner and his family are really kind and helpful, they will support you in everything that you need (airport, tours) the restaurant has local and western food for a cheap price and good size and quality, they are always keen to share with their guests, so you can learn about their culture and meet local people, we went for 4 days ...

The place is nice, really good feeling since the begaining. Swimming pool, chill area, friendly staff,,really good vibe place. I booked the hammock, and the hammock space its a little bit hot because no fans, but you have your own plug and WiFi it’s quite fast. Location it’s a little bit far from the city center, but ok for that price. Really close to Warung Lotek Pak Mu...

Sadly it was my last night in Bali before heading home to Sydney on the late Jetstar flight. I hadn't booked any accomodation for the night as I had been staying in Ubud but wanted to be closer to shopping & the airport for my last day/night. we only stayed one night in this hotel before moved to ubud, overall we were very happy with our staying experience here. the hotel is relatively new with modern-style facilities, our room is very small but clearly it has been well-designed for sufficient use of its limited space, the room is very clean and beds are comfy, ac works well and is self-adjustable, free wi-...

Concept rooms and corridors from the moment you step into the hotel till you leave. Spacious and clean rooms and bathtub. Hotel staff never fails to greet you and they can help with booking restaurants and tours. Best "THE SHACK" to hangout at the rooftop with awesome music, great sunset views and good sun for tanning. Close walking distance to the beach, some cheap lo...

The best thing about this hotel is the location: it is very near business offices as well walking distance from shopping malls and restaurants. Hotel security is pretty good and staff are very warm, courteous and helpful. Internet connection can be unstable at times, but I suppose that is pretty common in Indonesia. Stayed here for 11 days on a reserach trip, and this ...

My wife and I have had an excellent stay (1 week) in Puri Santrian, which truely is a 4 star hotel. The hotel is well located right on the cleanest beach of Sanur and close to many restaurants and shops. Kuta beach (30 min) as weel as Ubud (45 min) can be reached easily without traffic issues. It was not clear whether the room we booked (beach wing) was already occupie...

We stayed at the Bene Hotel for 4 days. Check-in was smooth and the staff provided us with wet towels and juice during check-in. We found the staff to be extremely friendly and well-mannered. Everybody from the security and front desk staff to the restaurant staff greeted us with big smiles. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the restaurant. Though several rev...

It's a very nice hotel, in a very good location: Seminyak is probably the best place to stay if you go to Bali, and there's a very nice street with restaurants and shops for tourists just by the hotel. So, nice and clean, with a nice swimming pool, nice breakfast, everything nice. And still, I preferred the Mutiara: smaller hotel, nicer swimming pool (though more noisy...

would say this is the best hotel in kuta. it has everything to offer. we had a great stay. the hotel provides free wifi, complimentary dvd player, and even a laptop!!. the breakfast at pavoz restaurant was awesome with lots of varieties on a daily basis catering for both vegetarian and non-veg. location - just 5 minutes walk to discovery shopping mall, bali ratu sp...

We booked this hotel for Honeymoon, but unfortunately our hotel room had problem with Aircondition. So hotel staff relocated us to other property but same management where located just right on the front of Seminyak Beach. They gave us big Villa for stay at the front of Seminyak beach which had 2 big bed room, Swimming Pool and Guest Room. Very pleasant place to stay ...

I stayed in one of the Swirl Room of this hotel for 3 nights with my mother, and we absolutely loved it. Such a big room for such a good price! (Thanks Agoda). The breakfast buffet is amazing: so varied and delicious, and with the prime views of the rooftop restaurant. We had dinner at the restaurant in 2 of our nights and we absolutely loved everything we ordered. Eac...

It was a last minute booking but its all wort it! its a new apartment hotel thats why i booked! the Best part is the pool facing the beach, bar on the left side also facing beach what a amazing experience with sunset :) room is big with complete kitchen appliances you can cook and after that use the dishwashing liquid so no problem of cleaning. This is one of the best hotel/villa I have stay in my 10 years travelling. The design of the villa represent the unique of Balinese culture. I book a villa with private pool and the room is spacious and authentic design. The hygiene is perfect and need to praise to the villa staff too, as very friendly, polite and helpful which represent the beauty of Balinese. I enjoy...

I spent 16 days in Indonesia and found that this hotel is the best.. The room is clean, the staffs are very nice and friendly, the hotel is located at the main street and closed to the supermarket (you can walk just like 3 mins), and the hotel is also closed to the beach, and breakfast is really cool! :D

The hotel is of best value. Amazing service and fantastic food. Staff were so polite and accommodating In total we stayed five days at this hotel and greatly enjoyed the quiet and comfort .The rooms were clean , although a little dated. The service from the friendly , attentive staff was excellent. There are numerous restaurants in the hotel but they are expensive .Ho...

This is rated as the best boutique hotel in Indonesia by one of the magazines and we can understand why. Beautiful location at Northern tip of Lembongen and fab restaurants nearby although the hotel bar is well-priced especially at happy hour. A manager was leaving so all guests invited to the party including free buffet while there. Any issue (village rooms can be noi...

Our stay was short but very pleasant. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other people. One thing though, if a traveller plans to do a lot in other districts of Jakarta, it may take a lot of time to reach the destination due to heavy traffic jam on the streets of Indonesia capital.

We stayed at Batu Karang for three nights, and I didn't want to leave. The service received upon first arriving on the Island of Lembongan was fantastic. We had a representative from the hotel come pick us up from the beach and walk us to the hotel (it's not a long walk), while other staff from the hotel took our bags from the beach to the hotel. We were greeted with a...

Pros: The hotel is set within nice gardens which are well maintained and is just a short walk from the busy main Senggigi strip and beach. The staff are friendly and helpful and the room is a good size. The cafe by the main gate sells coffee which is pretty good. We enjoyed staying in this hotel, even though the location is far back but it is still great location to other places (It's located in the heart of Seminyak). Staff is great, friendly, and professional. However, the cleanliness of the hotel and the way the clean the room is a little bit below my standard, so I have to give 3 star instead of 5, we found a stain on our b...
