I can't say enough great things about this hotel. Stylish, upscale but comfortable, the resort strikes a welcome balance between 5 star service and laid back beach vibe. The breakfast is phenomenal, and included if you book on Agoda. For those who didn't leave the laptop at home, the WIFI is strong throughout the entire resort. This means catching up on emails or downloading a new kindle book right next to the pool. Another great feature of the hotel is the location, away from the main Chaweng village. The beach out front is private and secluded. The Fisherman's Village is a few steps down the boardwalk, which has a string of low-key restaurants and bars. It maintains an element of charm, unlike the Cancun or Kuta beach vibe of Chaweng. The standard sea facing room was very large and boasts most of the amenities of the upgraded rooms. I would save your money and spend it on an all out splurge at their restaurant (oysters, seafood towers, delicious lamb, must try prawn salad). One thing to note is that the hotel is pretty quiet during the low season (great for couples looking for a good price), though the bar and nightlife scene were virtually nonexistent. I'm not sure if this is also the case in Chaweng, though they probably have more hotel to hotel foot traffic there. Definitely worth every penny and for us, was the best option for a great vacation in Koh Samui.

Absolute heaven from beginning to end! We had booked to stay in a second floor, balcony jacuzzi room, but were informed upon arrival that we had been upgraded to a top floor ocean view jacuzzi room. The wonderful staff informed us they always try to upgrade where possible. The room was both rustic and luxurious and every need had been considered- the insect repellent and travel adaptors provided in the room were particularly helpful. The 6pm turn down service was especially thoughtful and staff came round with treats made in the Silavadee bakery. The breakfast that is included most room rates was superb and far exceeded any hotel buffet we had before. A wide range of cooked breakfast dishes could be ordered from the menu. The pool areas were fantastic, one of which has a bar to order drinks, and provided stunning views out to the sea from the infinity pools and private beach was wonderfully quiet, a luxury on Koh Samui! We dined several times at the restaurant The Height, and enjoyed of the most delicious Thai food we had during our stay on Koh Samui and found it priced similarly to other restaurants in nearby Chaweng and Lamai, both of which are a very short taxi ride away.(Silavadee also run a regular free shuttle service) Our only complaint would be that the spa facilities are incredibly expensive. Though the aromatherapy massage we booked was probably the best massage we have ever had, we still found the prices eye-watering even for a spa and especially by thai standards. We also agreed that had the prices been lower, we absolutely would have booked more treatments and likely spent considerably more overall were they value for money! The best part of our stay were absolutely the wonderfully welcoming staff who were not only helpful and informative but went out of their way to make sure our stay was as fantastic as possible. We truly can't wait to return and absolutely plan to as soon as possible. 10/10!

From the second we checked into the hotel, almost everything about this hotel was just amazing. We were super early when we arrived, but the hotel staff gave us a place to change into beach clothes and led us to the beach, introduced us to the bar staff and got drinks in our hand. It was a good start. The Sala Pool Villa was very nice--though the completely outdoor toilet can make one a bit bashful. My wife and I normally do not use resort pools, because we find them a bit loud, too public and generally just not our cup of tea. In the pool villa, we spent at least an hour each day in our pool and it was lovely. I've taken my time getting to this point, but the food is absolutely unbelievable. Start off your day with the Eggs Benedict (some of the best I've ever had), move on to the stir-fried pork or beef with basil for lunch (and if you're feeling very hungry, don't miss out on the amazing appetizers), then shift gears to one of the amazing curries for dinner. I had the softshell crab curry 3 times during our week stay--yes, it was that good--and it never disappointed. There were very few low points, but: - our room smelled of smoke when we arrived. The resort was completely booked to capacity, so the management could not move us, but they at least had housekeeping stock us up with good-smelling incense oils and candles. - the cleaning of the pool on our arrival left a little to be desired. Given that it's in a garden, we can understand having little bits of plant and flowers leftover, but ours had a few too many stray hairs from previous guests (gross, yes, but easy to take care of). - the beach bbq night was a little silly for me. The resort restaurant does such incredible food, it seems like a real waste and a shame to eat something simple like grilled snapper. - Cheong Mon is SUPER quiet, and Sala is the only thing great about it. If you want a walkable resort town with off-property options, this probably is not your place.

Among all the hotels i have stayed, SALA Chaweng is the best of the best. With great hospitality and very good view, you will experience unforgettable stay in this hotel. Starts upon check in, the staffs already impressed you with special offers for the soap, pillows. Everything will be prepared to suit you. I booked for partial sea view room and it has great view. The huge window can be opened so you can enjoy breeze while sleeping. The breakfast offers miscellaneous foods and drink and you can order their special menu. Definitely will come back to this hotel again

Sensimar is a wonderful hotel and perfect for relaxation. Chefs are the best of the best in Thailand and a couple of us enjoy the foods in the hotel so much in these 4 days. Poor us to visit Koh Samui at the perfect rainy and flooding period. We stayed in the hotel completely 4 days with no where to go. We stayed in a pool villa but we were not able to enjoy the pool at all. Room is clean and bright. My opinions are hotel should have more umbrella in stock. Heavy rainy day is not romantic at all. A couple of us share an umbrella may not work all the time. Even I request for an extra umbrella, only broken one is available. Moreover if hotel can assign more activities especially during the rainy day, that will be perfect. Thanks for Adam and his staffs helping us to arrange airport transfer and massage transfer. We wish to visit Koh Samui again very soon.

i wanted to take my girlfriend on a holiday that would take her breath away. although i did keep the hotel a surprise (and may have even played it down on the way there!) the entire experience upon arrival; the location, hotel grounds, service, private beach/bay, and finally the awe inspiring villa itself ended up bringing her to tears of joy and gratitude - mission accomplished! you'll see why she had this reaction when you get there. value is everything to me. whatever i pay, if it's a little or a lot, i expect to get what i paid for. if it is a little, i expect little and i am happy with anything extra. if i pay more though, my expectations grow. i wanted to avoid all of the "fakes" that pretend to be 5 star, but was at first nervous about paying my way out of the nerves associated with poor quality...my bank account usually doesn't permit me to do so. having been to banyan tree bangkok, and now banyan tree koh samui.... i don't regret a thing. pros: everything. might sound over the top.. but it is everything you see in all of the pictures and more. we were in a villa that was almost at the top of the mountain and had uninterrupted views of the southern coast of koh samui. it was completely private (it was clearly designed to be this way), and very peaceful. every whim had been thought of and provided. the grounds are huge and you can get complimentary buggy rides wherever you need to go (breakfast, private beach, lobby etc). our host (butler?) was very helpful, and all staff speak english very well. hammock, 2 different sets of sun beds on either side of the villa, 3 separate divisions in the villa (lounge area, bedroom, and bathroom). fresh fruit every day. extensive menu for both in room or restaurant dining. "activities" every day!!! yoga at sunrise/sunset, snorkelling, kayaking etc etc... all complimentary!!! the breakfast was typical of banyan tree, completely decadent and wide ranging. everything you could want at an extremely high standard

we had the mot amazing stay at this resort, it felt like paradicse and we really did not want to leave. infact we extended our stay once so we didnt have to leave. our room was beautiful with a spectacular view of the laggoon swimming pool and the bay. the bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever stayed in. the bathroom was so clean and spacious it almost felt romantic. the maid service was fantastic and we loved the rose pettals and the candles which they left for us each night with the animal made out of towles. the breakfast was sensational, we challenge anyone to find a fault with what they serve. all so fresh and tasty, we were seriously impressed. there service around the pool was also excelant with extreamly attentive staff bringing us delious fruit smoothies upon request. the al a carte menu offered by the hotel we were slightly dissapoined with. the selection was not very appealing considering they are a 5 star hotel. we opted to attend one of there themed nights, an all you could eat bbq buffet. maybe our expectations were too high but the food was not the best. the steak was very chewy, we booked a table for 8 and were told the bbq would be clsosing in 20 mins soon after we had arrived, if we had known this we would have booked an earlier table. we felt we had paid too much for what we recived on this occasion. the village close by was very easy to walk to and it is well worth a visit. there are a lovely selection of resurants which were half the price of the hotel and the quality was incredible. our favourate was a place called luna especailly there cocktail mia tia - amazing.

villa - spacious, nice design (award winning)outdoor shower and private pool are exceptional experience ! food - dining on the rock - the 10 course meal was amazing food - dining on the hill - you can see the sunset and the buffet (thai) was also amazing and good value (5 stars+ resort) butler - sort out booking for meals, buggy and departure nicely. resort pool - design and set out on the hill infinity pool ! one of the best. we will go back every year. a resort for hide out and relax.

Travel with my wife. Arrived at hotel reception which is top of the hill with breath taking scenery. When our room is ready, hotel guest relation manager show us around the room and explained the facilities within the room. She also share there are complimentary activities such as boat excursions, snorkeling, kayak, yoga and so much more. Unfortunately we only stay for 1 day which insufficient time for boat excursions but amazingly the hotel guest relation manager was kind enough to extend our check out time. Breakfast, again was seated facing amazing view of the sea. You get to select few type of egg dishes prepare freshly. I had Egg Royal and my wife had Thai style egg Benedict. Location perspective its quite a distance to city but you get privacy and can relax. But if you want to go to the city, you will need to book a taxi from hotel.

This hotel has two large swimming pools which Jacuzzis. We were waited on hand and foot whilst on our sun loungers. Our drinks were brought to us when we requested them. The staff can't do enough for you. The buffet breakfast was nice, the usual bit of something for everyone. We stayed in the other side over the road not on the beach side, but I think this pool was much quieter and nicer than the other pool. There was a gym and the pool view rooms were much nicer based around this swimming pool. The location is about 8 mins into the centre of Cheweng which was good, the tuk tuks were passing the hotel regular so this wasn't a problem. The welcome drink was a lovely gesture when we arrived. The rooms were very large and the beds were massive, it was like having a king size bed each. The air-conditioning was brilliant, lovely and cold just what you need in that sun. The Thai massage was very nice too. The free tea and coffee drink condiments were very nice in the room also the two bottles of drinking water each day. The beach is lovely just at the side of the hotel and where you eat your breakfast is in a nice setting too. Overall this hotel should be a Five Star Plus because it truly is beautiful and on my next visit to Thailand I will most definitely be staying at this hotel again. We got friendly with many other people whilst staying here and many of them have stayed at this hotel before and keep coming back on a yearly basis. I wouldn't hesitate in returning to this hotel on my next visit. All in all this is my favourite hotel out of my stay in Thailand and I'm thinking about booking my next holiday here.

Our stay at the Jamihkiri was utterly fantastic. The resort is out of this world - it is perfect in every sense. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and have balconies with stunning views. Highlight of the day was happy hour around the pool - best cocktails we've had in Thailand!! The staff at the hotel we're brilliant too, all so friendly and happy to help you in any way possible. The hotel is located about 10 minutes away from the main area of Sairee which costs around 450-600 baht in a taxi. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the pier 3 times a day which is useful, and Sairee is only a short stroll away where there are plenty bars and restaurants. The food in the hotel was great, we especially enjoyed breakfast - very calm, relaxed atmosphere and plenty of choice! Dinner is also great with a selection of both Thai and western dishes. Prices are fairly reasonable. I would highly recommend this hotel, it is a real gem and is completely underrated as a 4 star, it most definitely deserves to be a 5 star!!

We stayed at the W-retreat for 7 nights on our honeymoon. This place is absolutely amazing, the staff are the most friendly, genuine people you could ever meet, they felt like family to us and we were so sad to leave. We really can't wait to get back to Koh Samui and stay at the W, we hired a scooter and drove around to the many other hotels in Koh Samui, this included Banyan Tree and Tongsai Bay I am pleased to say that staying at the W was the best decision we have ever made none of these hotels come close to comparing. We will definitely be coming back to stay at the W. We miss all of the staff at the w

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 5 nights and we couldn’t talk highly enough of this place, from being warmly greeted with refreshing towels and drinks to our very early morning farewell (as we had to catch a morning flight from Surat Thani) and packed breakfast to go. The staff were all friendly, professional and fun, a testament to Mantra Samui’s philosophy for selecting staff with a great attitude. The Location is great for a quiet and relaxing holiday being away from the main strips, however frequent shuttle busses make it easy to get to Bophut Fishing Village and Chaweng. Our room, the Love Oasis Jacuzzi room, was so fantastic with beautiful authentic décor, great views and come fully equipped with all the creature comforts you would need such as a great selection of movies and music, free international calls, books, and more! Awesome facilities and inclusions – a infinity pool with a swim up bar (don’t miss happy hour drinks!), fully equipped gym, yoga classes, and day spa. Breakfasts were great and we had dinner at the restaurant a couple of times which provided some nice Thai fusion food. We hired a driver for half a day which was arranged through Mantra to take us around the Island to check out the beaches and waterfalls which was excellent. Highly recommended. The Mantra Samui family have really gone out of their way to make our experience an amazing one, and with more additional improvements in the works such as a new restaurant, coffee shop and more shuttles running into town we can’t wait to come back to see out Mantra family again!

Hi everyone, Back on my home country (Chile), after my honemoon stay at Panviman, I wanted to take the proper time to congratule such an excellent hotel and staff. Me and my wife had an awesome time here. I will go through specific items so that all fellow traveleres can get benefited from this information. We highly recommend Panviman resort for a relaxed stay at Ko Phangan Location: the hotel is kind of "isolated" from the urban parts in Ko Phangan but this is just perfect if you're looking for a nice place to relax. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and we were given an upgrade to a Deluxe Cottage that was fantastic I must say. Also, there is a small village right next to the hotel wich is great for having food (please go to Rasta Baby restaurnt) or getting massages (at Bam Bam massage parlor). The hotel has a sort of private beach and theres another one which you can go by tuk tuk (the hotel has a tuk tuk with daily schedules for 100 BTH). The 2nd beach is much better, please go!!! (Crystal clear water, no waves at all) while the beach at the hotel is also great but the water is a bit more rough Rooms: our cottage was great, i Can't say anything about it. Perfect AC, perfect bathroom, everything top notch Staff: very kind at all times, everything was very well managed. When we arrived we were received from the manager with flower necklaces due to our honeymoon, we were informed about our free upgrade, and on our room we had some special decoration and cake! Food: we didn't try the restaurants at the hotel (We prefered to ate at the village becasue we found the prices a bit expensive), but the breakfast was ASTOUNDING. One of the best I've had ever, and oh my god the view... The view was by far the best I've had while having breakfast Miscellanous: please go to both beaches if you can. We also took a taxi outside the hotel to go to Full Moon party which was pretty entertaining Congratulions and keep up the good work!! If we ever return to Ko Phangan

We stayed 7 days at the Library hotel that we found by chance when walking along chaweng road. Our stay was great. First and foremost, the location is ideal for the greatest beach and sand, despite the noise and agitation of chaweng beach. The major thing is that the hotel manages to create a cosy and peaceful atmosphere in the hotel within the very lively atmosphere of chaweng beach - so you are in the heart of what is going on without to live with the noise of it. Then the design is really nice, very simple, white in the room, with a very cool red pool, and confortable bean bag to lie on around the pool. The staff is also very friendly, especially at the restaurant and around the pool, smiling and welcoming most of the time, and doind their utmost to please you (especially around the pool). also, the restaurant (the page) is one of the best on ko samui, with exceptional Thai and international food. Lastly, the large choice of DVDs and Books at the library is bringing additional value to spend nice holidays. All in all, we had a great time and were very happy to have found this hotel which is, according to us, one of the best 5 star on the island. Mostly designed for Young couples & singles

This was our second time in two years we stayed at the Muang Samui. There is simply no better place for people of any age. It has everything. The best rooms overlook the pool which is perfect. This hotel really is on the beach. Five steps from a pool room into the pool. 5 steps from the end of the pool onto the beach! The atmosphere on the beach is electric both day and night. At night the beach transforms into miles of restaurants on the sand - yes you can have your dinner on the beach with your toes in the sand! The front of the hotel is on Chaweng Beach Road which is busy with lots of shops, restaurants and markets. Everything is easy to get to and open-air taxi trucks provide a cheap (50 baht per passenger one-way) to get around. There are two Muay Thai Boxing stadiums - we went to the opening night fights at the Chaweng stadium - great fun! Ignore the people who have posted any negative comments about the hotel - I am sure the problem is with them, not the hotel. The hotel is breathtakingly beautiful with stunning architecture. The staff are the most friendly and efficient we have ever encountered. The rooms are large and comfortable with great beds. The breakfast is to die for! Don't think about it - stay there for the best resort holiday you have ever had - I intend to book another week there in 2013!

We spent a long weekend at the Tongsai Bay and did not want to leave. It was an amazing, completely relaxing and wonderful weekend, and we would highly recommend this hotel. The best thing about the Tongsai Bay is the staff. We have traveled quite a bit in Asia, and without question the staff at the Tongsai Bay were the nicest, warmest and most helpful of any place we have been. Every single person we encountered was genuinely friendly and wanted to help with any of our needs. In many southeast asian hotels, the staff are all smiles but completely clueless and basically useless. Not so at the Tongsai Bay! The staff all speak English and are exceptionally well trained. From the front desk, to the restaurant, to the room staff, to the pool and beach guys, the staff made our stay truly memorable. The second best thing about the Tongsai Bay is its location. Being situated on a private bay is priceless. No one is trying to sell you anything on the beach, the whole place is very private, quiet and relaxing. The views are amazing. We only had a beach front suite, not one of the more luxurious cottages or villas. But both our room and our view were wonderful. The room was very large as was the balcony. The bath tub on the balcony was definitely fun. We really appreciated the personal extra touches, like treats left in the room at turndown, the fact that unlimited drinking water is provided, the fact that non-motorized water sports are free (they will even give you free sailing and windsurfing lessons). We also liked the common room with pool table and very large selection of DVDs to borrow and watch in your room. The internet cafe provides free internet. After staying at so many hotels where you feel as if they're doing their best to rip you off by charging you for every single small thing, the Tongsai Bay was so refreshing. We only left the hotel once during our long weekend stay, to go to Bophut for dinner. The rest of the time, we just did not want

Top notch hotel! Loved staying at this place. so many things to list on why to stay here. First, when checking in the welcoming staff was great. While our room was being prepared because we arrived early, we had some drink at the pool. The pool was amazing! By far the best pool we had during our entire stay in Samui. Overlooking the ocean, right on the beach and clean. We spent the majority of our time at the pool. When checking into the room, we were amazed at how pretty the room was. The view was PERFECT! Bed comfortable and room cleaned every day and had no worries about anything being lost or taken. The location is great. Just a short walk from the entertainment area but far enough away to just chill. The beach was clean and water was clear with no seaweed. When walking north, the seaweed began to collect on the shoreline. but this wasn't the case for sareeraya villas. to finish here, I would like to say thanks to the staff that worked there. They were wonderful, so helpful and always super nice. We made good friends with the bartender and when leaving took a picture with him. Overall, the place is a 5 star and i highly recommend stay here anytime. Ill be back for sure!

We were over delighted with the amenities and rooms here! The pool was fabulous, the staff went above and beyond and were so kind, the bungalow we stayed in was spacious and chic! The sunset views were spectacular! I can’t say enough about what a great time we had. Booking a room with breakfast included was the best! We would definitely stay here again. They have a shuttle that will drive you around, as there isn’t much nearby in the way of food/markets, and their restaurant didn’t have much in the way of authentic cuisine. However I would say that’s the only downfall.

Very helpful staff, I got sick on my first day and the hotel staff took care of me to the max they took me to the hospital and made sure everything was ok with me, they kept asking about me and send me complementary food and drinks for the rest of my stay although I was sick only for one day... honestly the best treatment ever from hotel staff. 5 stars standard. Very clean. Good location. Good food. Extremely helpful staff. Definitely I’ll stay there again on my next trip to Samui.

our arrival at Sandalwoods was a relief following a harrowing night in a hut halfway up a tree in a jungle so the absence of resident rodents and presence of air-con and hot running water would have been pleasing enough. Sandalwoods, however, offered much,much more than merely the amenities to meet our basic needs. Our villa (the Malee) was spacious, maintained to a high standard and decorated with thought and flair and we particularly loved the big bathroom and walk in shower. Our inside-outside 'space' extended out through two sets of sliding doors to a more than adequate balcony/terrace running along two sides of the accommodation and folding screens ensured privacy when using our open air jacuzzi bath-beneath-the-stars (nice touch,guys!). The views over the island were difficult to comprehend they were so perfect and the infinity pool directly below our villa is exactly as it looks in the web site photos - in fact, no photo could do Sandalwoods justice. The breakfast was the best we had in Thailand and room service dinner was really special. Sandalwoods is at the top of a great big hill (as other reviews highlight) which is probably not to be attempted on foot but you can't get these views without a little height and free daily transport to nearby coral cove and chaweng resort means getting out and about isn't a challenge. Sandalwoods manages to combine luxury and privacy with a warm 'family' feeling from the staff team our week at Sandalwoods was the best of the three we spent in Thailand. See you in 2011!

My husband and I stayed at Melati for 5 nights on our Honeymoon in February 2013. The resort was so much more than what we expected. We were both so happy to have such a beautiful place to relax and wind down from the hectic planning of our Wedding. We were so pleased with the entire stay that we are determined to make Melati a regular destination. After a long string of flights from Australia to Koh Samui, it was great to be picked up from the airport by the resorts limousine service. We were so jet lagged and sick of being in transit, it was nice to be greeted by the friendly driver of a very new Landcruiser complete with icy cold towels and cold water (sooo nice on such a hot day). On arrival at the resort, we were greeted with many smiling faces and beautiful surroundings. Every inch of the resort is breathtaking! We were taken over to the lounge area in the alfresco style reception where we were given more icy cold towels along with delicious homemade iced tea (I have no idea what flavour it was but it was amazing! Please let me know if anybody else does!!!). Our room was the Pool Villa & was really awesome. The photos on the websites don’t even do this resort justice. Everything about it feels relaxing, luxurious & happy! My very favourite part of Melati would have to be the gardens and decore. Everything is so well thought out and it creates the best atmosphere. The restaurants are designed so nicely and the service and food quality are second to none! Loved the swim up bar and the view from it was great! I can honestly say that Melati Beach Resort is by far the best place I have ever stayed!!!!

I've been at Akaryn two times. First one i booked from theirs web site and stayed 4 or 5 days. And second time when i was back from other island i booked from Agoda. So they exactly knew i'm repeat costumer. But they downgraded my room to more simple version of their great selection. Room table was messy cleaned, there fork and knife in wooden plate but few days ago there is fruits, napkins etc... It ruined my that lil but cuz i'm back from very uncomfortable place and expected same room. But i'll measure my agoda review by my first visit. I have to say that rooms are great! very big, many options to light, clean and comfortable, great breakfast, cheap good condition bike rent. They have all essentials that 5 star small luxury hotel has to offer!

Rooms are spacious, well designed. Decor and furnishing are elegant and contemporary. Kids love the swimming pool, and we love the ocean view from our rooms. We've been to many places within Thailand, this was the best service we've ever received. People are super nice (especially towards our children) and very considerate and well trained. For example, the moment they got to know that we would leave early in the morning, they offered 1) morning call 2) if we won't have time for breakfast in their restaurant, they can pack some breakfast boxes for us on our way to the airport. They did pack us 4 bags, each contained 2 types of drinks, 3 types of break / cake, 1 egg omelet, 4 small jars of jam / sauce.

Fantastic sunset (this is a highlight of the resort), excellent facilities and good value for money. Food was excellent... Try the Japanese buffet every Monday evening. It is a resort in the middle of a coconut plantation you have some small village style restaurants outside and small shops so it will be best if you stay in the resort. Food is great but expect it to be pricey being in a resort and all. What i love most about the resort is the accommodating and polite staff. They always greet us and end with have a nice/good day. Everybody is so polite and friendly and the entire stay was a very pleasant and memorable one for my wife and I. Special Thanks goes out the restaurant crew at the Amber restaurant Khun Kwan and Lek for attending to our daily needs (we stayed at the hotel for 1 week). I see them in the morning till the restaurant closes at 11pm. They work such long hours and continue to be so attentive and friendly... Kudos to the Intercon for that! I hope you treasure them as It's staff like them who really make a guest's stay really memorable! Special Thanks also goes out to the speed boat crew who took us out to see the Pink Dolphins... Like I said before, the tours and meals are not cheap! But the excellent professionalism from the staff, facilities (top notch/excellent speed boat) and crew more than makes up for the costs. In room dining was perfect, tennis courts and the event centre team was also fantastic! The SPA was also an experience and it's something you must try... One final caveat, if costs is an issue then please look elsewhere but as mentioned before, the quality of services more than makes up for this!

Good privacy with a private pool. (1.3m) Be careful if you can't swim. It's quite deep! Comes with a huge round bathtub that faces the sea. SUnrise view. Very romantic. There are 2 different pools within the hotel compound. Both have different views. MUST TRY BOTH! Good for Instagram/ Facebook pics. Also relax at the Star bar. Star gazing with a nice cold cocktail is great romantic stuff!

This is hands down, without question, the best 5 star resort we've had the pleasure to stay in. We spent 5 nights at Mai Samui over the 2014 New Year period and although the resort was fully booked it never felt busy, the staff handled everything with a smile and a calm attitude, the rooms and grounds were generous and cleaned meticulously each day, the food and beverages were far above average for Thailand (especially the breakfasts), the spa treatment we received was sublime, the surroundings and the decor was stunning. Would visit again without hesitation. Our only complaint was a faucet that fell off and that was fixed within a few hours of us notifying staff.

You can look at a hundred pictures of Blue View but nothing will ever prepare you for the experience of seeing it for the first time. This villa is something completely special and the full experience is enhanced by the wonderful Sugar her family and staff. It is impossible to find fault with this villa it is beautiful and so well looked after. The vista of the infinity pool and the outdoor space is one to be remembered. The outdoor entertaining was great fun with the Bose music system. Sugar arranged for the chef to Cook us lunch and the resulting banquet was memorable. I can honestly say that we enjoyed every aspect of Blue View but the best part was Sugar and family they are wonderful hosts and some of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet, they really looked after us well and went out of their way to make our time with them memorable. I would say you do need a 4x4 car with this villa as to get the amazing views the villa is high up a steep hill.

We stayed here for 5 days and our experience varied quite a bit depending on which staff was on duty. It seemed like they had access to very different information. The evening staff was the most unhelpful. When we were looking for a combined ferry and bus ticket to get from the hotel to Surat thani airport they said that they could not help us and we had to go to the ferry terminal ourselves. After having done some research ourselves and found an option we approached the morning/day staff, who said that they had those options available and could book for us. We were especially pleased with the service provided to us by Ann, who was the most helpful person we interacted with at Fair House. The room itself was clean and pleasant. The view was great. The drawback was that the Jacuzzi (for which we paid extra) was filled with ants and we could not use it for most of our stay. There was also noise coming from the hotel next-door until midnight. We complained, but were not offered to get moved even though there seem to be few guests at the time. The overall experience was fine, and was largely saved by a few dedicated staff members.
