As close to nature as you can get - crickets so loud it sounds like tinnitus, frogs in our bathroom, birds on the roof which sound like they’re inside and rats by the kitchen (which put us off the breakfast). We probably should have seen this coming and it’s an ‘experience’ but not for us

Good value and quite cheap, we got a free upgrade to stone bungalow as there were barely any other tourists. The staff was friendly, they gave us utensils to make instant noodles. They picked us up from the bus station as we arrived late in the evening. The beds were comfortable for Thai standards. Tea and coffee were always available. However, the bungalows have a hole straight into the wilderness through which various animals crawl in. Overally, the place was dirty with dead animals and excrements. The bungalows are right next to about the only pub around and we heard the noise from there.

We had a bad experience at smiley bungalow. Over night thousands of ants were in our room, bed, hair and luggage. We woke up in the middle of the night and had to wake the woman up, that works there. She was very friendly and understanding and gave us another room. The ants got into the room due to holes in the bathroom floor, were the wather just rinns into the ground. No wonder animals come through it!! So our horrornight was definitely because of a construction fault of the small houses/rooms. Also the roof of the fist "house"/room we stayed in was broke, the rain was nearly leaking in, it just got "fixed" with tape. So the priority is definitely in a bad condition and must be renovated! Also only this nice lady works there (she was available all the time and really helped us out as much as possible). She does all by herself which is not ok because there are so many "houses" to clean. It's not a one mans job!! It's necessary to renovate the place and have more people work there!!
