I am very happy, the hotel is nice, comfortable and clean, with an interior atmosphere inspired by Javanese culture, particularly the traditional batik motifs such as Truntum, Wayang, Loro Blonyo, and Punakawan, as well as Gebyok and wooden window decorations. The hotel has a strong Javanese cultural influence combined with European elements, and even has a gamelan performance. It has received a MURI record for having the most batik decorations in a hotel. The staff are very friendly and helped with luggage before check-in. The location is strategic and beautiful, with easy walking access to Pasar Gede, Pasar Klewer, Kraton, Kantor Pos Besar, Balai Kota, Benteng Vastenburg, and Pusat Grosir Solo. In the evening, there is also the nearby Galabo (Gladak Langen Bogan) culinary destination.

Advantages: -Very strategic location -Clean room -Complete amenities (even better if there is a shaver) and made of wood -Hot water runs perfectly and clean -Complete facilities (Fitness, Swimming Pool) -Helpful and fast-working staff Disadvantages: -AC not cold -Breakfast is somewhat lacking for a hotel like this, I stayed for 2 nights and twice I felt that the breakfast was lacking (in my opinion, only good in bread, porridge, soto, bean and sticky rice porridge, fried rice, and eggs). The juice is too watery, the pecel is not tasty, the fried chicken is too dry, the fish menu is also lacking. Maybe the placement of the chicken porridge dish needs to be improved, guests don't need to rotate just to take the porridge broth. -Hotel slippers are slippery -The TV channels are not complete, maybe they can be added or maybe changed to a smart/android TV like most hotels nowadays. -The room view is not attractive because the room I stayed in only had a view of the hotel lobby, I thought it would be like in the photo with a mountain view. -All staff are very helpful, but maybe the receptionist can be friendlier. That's my review during my 3D2N stay.

Great, but could've been better”
Stayed here during the peak season (Eid holiday). Reserved a non-smoking room but noticed that our group was placed on a smoking floor (despite there are 3 or 4 non-smoking floors at the hotel). The room was spacious, and nicely decorated, with classic Javanese ambiance. There were two small bottles of water available, an electric kettle, and hairdryer, but no ironing facilities in the room (I am sure we can ask for it, but as a five-star hotel I expect it is readily available in-room). Electric plugs was not very conveniently located. None in the bathroom. One on only one bedside (but located a bit far from the bed so you need a longer cord). Wish there was one on each side of the bed. In terms of services, they were all wonderful. Check in was swift. All staffs were quick to response and corteous. Everything was spotless. I asked for a change of pillows (I noticed there were a bit of musty smell) and the staff quickly bring me new pillows. Waiters were also very polite. Parking was available underground but quite small (for a large hotel), and no elevator from parking to the lobby, so it can be inconvenient when it's raining (as in my case). Breakfast options need to improve, please provide more healthier options (e.g healthier choice of bread and fresh juices, and granola), need dairy product option, more international option. Quality (and variety) of cheese also need to improve. Again, as a five star hotel, I expect more. In terms of location, it's one of the best. Short walking distance to the famous Pasar Gede (5 min walk), Pasar Triwindu, Ngarsopuro Night Market, and Mangkunegaran (about 10-15 min walk), the beautiful Gedung Djuang (10 min walk), Pasar Klewer and the Palace (10-15 min walk). Next door are banks with ATMs. Also next door is the center of night culinary experience. The nearest convenient store is 15 min walk, though, so if two small bottles of water are not enough for you, then you should buy more water beforehand. Overall, a great holiday destination.

The location is great. Is a beautiful hotel. Rich with the story and heritage of Surakarta. Decoration is amazing. The room is big and clean. There are 4 bulbs not working in my room. One of the bulbs seems already burned for a while, with some burn marks on the ceiling. Need a bit more attention while cleaning the room. I try the spa after 4 hours driving from Jepara. Nice spa. The lady is very friendly, with strong fingers. She mention the price list was not updated yet. The price list is very delicate. She mentioned a few minutes before the treatment finished. Anyway ... I am happy staying there only a few things need to take care of more details.

Great location in the city center”
We came early morning as our train arrived 4am, we couldn't checked in until our both rooms were ready at 1 pm. So we went around the city first, while we keep our luggage in the reception. The staffs were helpful. However the hotel is lacking of comfortable lounge where we wait for the rooms to be ready. The fancy seats in the main hall are not very comfortable. We checked poolside but it's small area and only has few outdoor chairs. With 5* hotel, we expects the lounge and pool were bigger and better. Car parking are limited, and on Sunday morning we couldn't park on the streetside as there's Car Free Day just in front of the hotel. They have valet service though and quite helpful. Overall stay is satisfying despite lacking of facilities. The deluxe rooms were good. Breakfast had choices. With the promotion price paid for 3 nights, it was decent.
